International
Doping Control Officer
Training Program

Setting new ITA Certified standards of quality and best practice for International Doping Control Officers.

Eligibility criteria

Doping control officers have the opportunity to participate in the IDCO Training Program through events run locally by their own organisation and the International Testing Agency. Access to the course materials, face-to-face training, examination and certification is free to all participating doping control officers.

All doping control officers must meet the following criteria in order to be eligible to enrol.

  • Prior completion of a doping control officer training program in your current anti-doping organisation

  • Completion of at least 6 testing missions within the last 12 months

  • Experience of testing international-level athletes

  • Age 21 or over at the time of enrolment

  • Proficiency in English language (both oral and written)

  • Must not have a criminal record or committed an anti-doping rule violation

To enrol in the IDCO Training Program, applicants must be nominated and endorsed by their current anti-doping organisation, confirming the eligibility criteria has been met. After ITA-Certification has been achieved, the same anti-doping organisation continues to exclusively appoint the IDCO to specific testing missions.
